This September 15 would have been my dad’s 67th birthday. He passed away in February of this year, but his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through music. As a devoted music teacher who worked at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, he dedicated his time and talent to helping people heal, grow, and find hope through music.
After his passing, we were overwhelmed by messages from former students and families, people sharing how he had profoundly impacted their lives, with many saying he had even saved them.
To honour his memory, we are raising funds for the Canadian Music Therapy Fund (CMTF). For over 30 years, CMTF has provided life-changing music therapy to those who need it most: children with autism, adults struggling with mental health, and seniors with dementia. As one of the only non-profits in Canada providing subsidized music therapy services, they make these services accessible to all. Your support will help continue my dad’s mission of bringing healing and hope through music.
