Honoring Omi

Donation protected
As the sun set on the spring equinox, our beloved Naomi’s soul rejoined the universe. After a shocking diagnosis that turned our world upside down, and a grueling five month battle with ovarian cancer, our brave warrior finally found peace. She passed away with loved ones at her side on the evening of March 20th.

She was taken from us far too soon. Unfathomably unfair, heart-wrenchingly surreal and depressing, we are now forced to continue on without her physical presence anymore.

But she lives on within us. Her legacy of compassion and positive change lives on through her family and her amazing community of loving supporters. We will all cherish her unstoppable spirit.

Naomi was unquestionably beautiful inside and out. An amazing and devoted mom, wife, sister, Nana, friend, citizen, human... she lit up the room. She had an insatiable appetite for learning new things and a wonderful sense of humor.

She always believed that raising the next generation was the most important job and took on the role with great pride and joy, saying that her children are her legacy. The ripples of her impact on this earth will be felt far and wide and for many years to come.

She touched so many lives, always leaving a positive impact, as she worked tirelessly to try to improve the world around her. Whether with local activism or fighting for global change or with daily kindnesses and stimulating conversations, Naomi made the world a better place. She was a staunch advocate for the environment and all living beings on this planet. She was a community connector, always bringing people together... and often to help fulfill the mantra of being the change that we wish to see in this world.

-----

She was laid to rest on Sunday, March 25th in an intimate, private gathering of close family.

The family home was open for visitors to come pay respects the evening of the 25th, and during certain times on Monday the 26th and Tuesday the 27th.

A larger memorial celebration to honor Naomi will be held on Saturday, May 12th - fittingly on the weekend of what would be her 65th birthday and Mother's Day, both on May 13th this year.

This fund was established with great appreciation and gratitude as an avenue to allow for any contributions toward honoring Naomi with a memorial bench and a memorial celebration so that we can all gather to commemorate her amazing impact on this world.
