My father, Philip E. Howard, was a strong, vibrant and intelligent man. He was a wonderful father and husband and a successful attorney. I thought he would always be around to take care of me. Ironically, I have become his caregiver. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in January of 2012. Today he lives in a memory care facility due to his need for 24-hour care and supervision. He was diagnosed just months after my maternal grandmother passed away from Alzheimer’s related complications. Since his diagnosis, both of his surviving siblings have also been diagnosed. This dreadful disease is rampant in my family as it is in many. I am setting up this fund to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association and 100% of donations will go directly to them. This foundation is near and dear to my heart and the goal, of course, is to help them find a cure.
I will be hosting a holiday party December 19th and will hopefully be able to collect some donations at that time. The event will be in honor of my father, Philip E. Howard, and of all families around the world affected by this devastating disease. Your donation means more to me than I can express. Thank you for your consideration.
