<div>Zoila Montelongo (Corona) was a woman of innumerable facets. She was one of 11 children, a single mother of 3, a grandmother to 9 and a great grandmother to 5. Though these people were not just a title to her - they were not just someone in relation - they were someone she would care for and love endlessly, they were someone she held so very dearly in her heart. She hesitated not to step in and aid anyone she could and touched everyone's hearts. She had a way of making nothing feel like everything. In the words of her own children, though now looking back they are aware that they may not have been the most fortunate monetary wise, they felt as though they were filled with riches and, for both them and everyone around her, she ensured the days were filled with laughter and love, always putting the needs of those around her above her own.

<div>Though that is not where her abilities ended, yes she was nurturing and loving, but if there is one thing about Zoila that people will forget not in her passing, that was her light of heart and humor. She had a way of making even the most somber of occasions be filled with laughter, and that laughter had a power to it, it brought people together, it sparked conversation, it brought joy. Her jokes were widespread and at times could even be ruthless and cutthroat, yet you couldn't help but to crack a smile.

<div> She was love, she was humor, but she was also her dogs. She was Lulis, Alex, Chuchas and all the others, she was her sunsets, she was her Bud Light, she was her orchids. There was not a moment of Zoila's life that was not spent with a dog by her side, a Bud Light in her hand (okay maybe not everyday), basking in the sunset and caring for her orchids. She was a woman or routine who stuck by her values and love. She was a bright woman who will continue to shine in every sunset that graces this earth. She was so extremely strong and used her strength to persevere through countless battles and obstacles in life. She put up a strong fight against ovarian cancer for the past three months but unfortunately on January 25th that cancer was just too much and she closed her eyes for the last time. But her strength lives on. It lives one through each and every one of us.
