<div>Mary E. "Emmi" Doucette recently experienced an unimaginable loss. A fire destroyed her home and claimed the life of her husband of 31 years, Paul, as well as their beloved dogs. In a single moment, Emmi lost her partner, her companions, and the place she called home.

<div>If you know Emmi, you know she is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people you will ever meet - the first to show up, the first to help, and the last to ask for anything in return. She has spent her life caring for others, and now she is facing the long and difficult process of rebuilding her own life from the ashes.

<div>We also want to honor the memory of Paul, a proud military veteran and dedicated educator who spent his life serving his country and then his students. His legacy of compassion, leadership, and selflessness lives on in the countless lives he touched.

<div>This GoFundMe is to help Emmi with immediate needs and many expenses that come with starting over after such a devastating loss. We have set this fundraising goal for the moment, but it will likely be adjusted as Emmi's needs become clearer.
