Honoring Patience Nkabinde (Auntie)

Patience (Auntie to our girls) profoundly touched our lives. We feel her absence in moments mundane and profound. We try to cherish her memory every day in some small way. We hope you will help us to honor her memory this year, by supporting her husband Godfey, daughter Ogechi and son Ebuka.
While they lost Patience too early and too suddently, they are doing well, finding strength in her memory, their church, family and friends. But they need assistance as they navigate life without her. Her children's education was paramount to Patience. Ogechi has a scholarship to an amazing high school, but still must pay some school fees and expenses. Ebuka will be applying to high schools and his school fees will continue. Godfrey is exploring new informal businesses, which will take some time to develop and needs to keep his health. Rent, food and transport alone can be exhorbitant expenses in times of inflation and inequities in the economy especially when one bread winning parent is no more.
We would ask that in lieu of gifts for our girls or for us this year, that you channel your generosity to Patience's family. She referred to Amaya and Neave as 'my girls', to Mandeep as 'my brother' and as for me, she was a phenomenal support to me as I started my journey as a mother.
When she passed, Patience had this Martin Luther King Jr. quote on her What'sApp account: “If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” That is what her children and husband must do, and your generosity will help them to keep moving forward.
All funds raised will go to Godfrey, with whom we keep in regular contact. We as a family are also committed to supporting on a continuous basis, but we cannot do this alone!
