Honoring the Life and Legacy of a True Renaissance Man
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved father, a man whose life was a beautiful tapestry of hard work, artistic passion, and unwavering love for his family and community.
A Lifetime of Dedication
For over 60 years, our father was a pillar of the grocery retail industry. He was a man who understood the value of a hard day’s work and the importance of serving others with a smile. Whether he was mentoring a young colleague or greeting a regular customer, his work ethic was the bedrock of our family.
A Passion for Life: From the Diamond to the Canvas
Beyond his professional life, our father was a man of immense talent and diverse passions. In his youth, his athleticism and drive led him to the minor leagues, where he pursued his love for baseball with the same intensity he brought to everything else.
As the years passed, that competitive energy transformed into a prolific love for the arts. He became a master oil painter, capturing the world around him with a vibrant palette and a unique perspective. When at his easel, you could find him lost in the rhythms of jazz, a genre that mirrored his own smooth, soulful approach to life.
A Proud Legacy
Our father was a deeply proud African American man who cherished his heritage and his family. He was a devoted father to a daughter and a son, and a brother who shared a profound bond with his two sisters and three brothers. He now joins four of his siblings who preceded him in rest, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and grace.
How You Can Help
We are raising funds to help cover the costs of his final arrangements. Our goal is to give him a send-off that is as vibrant and soulful as the life he led.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward:
Funeral, burial expenses, and final costs.
In gratitude,
Ericka and Johnny
