On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, my mom, Maria De Lara, passed away unexpectedly at home.

My mom was the strongest, most resilient, and determined person I knew. Despite her physical and mental limitations, she gave everything her all and never gave up. She was a true inspiration to everyone who knew her. If you had the privilege of knowing her, you couldn’t help but love her.

Her passing has been incredibly difficult for our family. We want to honor her with the memorial and funeral service she truly deserves. The service is scheduled for Friday, December 20, 2024, and we will need to have the expenses paid 48 hours beforehand.

I know that many Americans, like myself, are living paycheck to paycheck, and I completely understand if you’re unable to contribute. However, if you knew my mom or our family and are able to support us in any way—whether through a donation or by sharing this message—it would mean the world to us.

Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
