<div>As many of you already know, my sister, Jamila Savoy, departed this life on Sunday, July 28, at the age of 46 in Albuquerque, NM, with my mom and me by her side. For those who may not have heard, this is extremely heart-wrenching news to break to you via this platform.
</div>

<div>Even though Jamila had been able to live as healthily and happily as possible for many years since initial diagnosis, her chronic illness ultimately overcame her. She fought valiantly to preserve her own life while working to maintain her catering and special events business -- Mila's Mesa -- and raise her young daughter, Yasmine, but, sadly, she was not able to obtain the organ transplant she desperately needed that she had hoped would save her life.

<div>With your support now, you will help our mom, Sylvia, and me cover the funeral costs for Jamila, including her cremation, inurnment, celebration of life (yet to be announced), and associated expenses, for which she was not prepared. Any surplus funds will provide Yasmine with resources for school expenses and other necessities in the immediate aftermath of my sister's untimely passing.
