On December 1st, my little brother Jeremy Grubb celebrated his 37th birthday. The very next day, he received the call that would change his life forever—his 8-year-old daughter, Ethelyn, and her mother had been in a devastating car accident. The unimaginable happened, and Ethie did not survive before paramedics could reach the scene.
Jeremy lives in Indiana, with Ethelyn, Stepmother Jasmine and her brothers Ayden (16 years old) and Noah (15 years old). When she is not there, she is at her mother’s home in West Virginia and that’s where the funeral will be held, which means Jeremy, his wife Jasmine and boys are facing not only the heartbreak of losing their daughter and sister, but also the challenge of covering funeral and travel expenses and missing school. To make matters even more difficult, just a couple of months ago, Jeremy and Jasmine were in a life-altering motorcycle accident that has left them unable to return to work as of yet. Jeremy was an EMT going for his paramedics' license and Jasmine was a Veterinary technician at the time as well.
Ethie was a bright, smart, and fierce little girl who wrapped everyone around her finger the moment you met her. She loved her family deeply and brought light to everyone’s lives. Losing her, especially during the holiday season, is a pain no parent should ever have to endure. If there is anything anyone can do to help—no matter how small—it would mean the world to our family. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Thank you for your kindness and support.
