Dr. Thomas Michael Finch passed away September 4th. after struggling for years to breathe, with rheumatoid pain and the inability to do the things he dreamed of doing.
Our family was there to surround him and give him our love and comfort in his last hours.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 46 years, Deborah Carol Finch, son Michael Thomas Finch, and their two current fur babies JoJo and Biscuit.
Thomasand Deborah's son, Michael Thomas Finch and his wife Heather Finch, and their two children Averie and Jamison. Thomas is also survived by his daughter, Chelsea Elizabeth White, and her husband Randall White and their children Elliott and Quinton.
As we surrounded Tom with love , we reminisced, cried, laughed, cried more, and held his hands, we prayed.
If you didn't have the pleasure to know Tom, he loved to laugh and joke. He loved to dance with his eyes shut hands going from side to side. He was a devoted husband, father, Pop- Pop, and active community member as his children grew up.
Tom worked as a personal trainer at Cascade Athletic Club, volunteered to be a coach for sports teams, was a team physician to varying minor and pro sports teams, and even worked as a radio Chiropractor for the cowboys, clowns, cheerleaders horses and bulls (no that is not a typo).
Thomas opened his Chiropractic office in the early 1980s achieving a dream, and becoming a successful, well respected Chiropractor in Gresham, Oregon.
He loved making people happy, always bringing my whole family ice water every night. Booking Disney vacations when he could. His love language was truly acts of service. Which was truly heartbreaking for him when he could no longer do such acts for others, especially my mom, over the years.
He was not perfect, and he made mistakes in his life, but, did what he could to amend those mistakes and live his life loving his wife Deborah, children and the families they have built.
Tom absolutely adored being a Pop- Pop and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
Deborah is in Sandy. She has her two golden doodles. She does not want a meal train as she has a very bad peanut allergy and cannot eat gluten. Gas and Grocery gift cards are appreciated. She buys her dog food at coastal, so a gift card there would also be helpful.
The Go Fund me funds raised will pay for Tom's accumulation of medical expenses, and for Deborah to help her remain in the home she shared with Thomas while she processes this tremendous loss and change as well as prepares for the next stage in her life. The funds will also assist with food expenses and utilities if needed.
