WDIV 4 Krausmans Story

Richard "Dick" Krausmann (AKA Mr. Cross-Man), a pillar of the Grosse Pointe community for decades, passed away at the age of 93 this past Valentine's Day. Its fitting that he passed on a day celebrating love, because Mr. Krausmann's heart was about as big as they get.

He opened the Krausmann service station at Kercheval and Cadieux in 1954 and for the past 50 years he and his wife, Celia, dedicated himself to providing for the community - most notably by his devotion to his crossing guard position to Maire Elementary school where he would be out there daily - rain, show or shine - crossing students safely across Cadieux and Kercheval.

He lived a life devoted to giving to others and we would love to now give back to honor him and his service to our community.

To read more of his story, you can find the beautiful tribute his son, Ken, wrote to him here: Krausmann Tribute

Story tonight at 6pm on Channel 4 WDIV Detroit.

Thank you!
