Honoring Carol Buck and her grieving children

Donation protected
On November 8, following complications from a stroke and recently diagnosed stage 4 cancer, Carol Buck took her last breath with her family by her side. Carol leaves behind 3 beautiful children, Joanna, Nora, and Tony, who are grieving and need our support.

Your gift to this GoFundMe will honor Carol and help offset crippling medical bills, memorial service and cremation costs, and lawyer fees as her children navigate their new normal without their #1 fan by their side.

Carol spent her life supporting and teaching others, pouring her energy and love into her community, friends, and children. She was a wonderful cellist with a vibrant and gracious soul. Carol was the type of person we all strive to be – she faced adversity with a smile, found joy in the little things, and showed up for her loved ones without hesitation, always giving despite her own financial struggles.

Over the years, Carol had been in and out of the hospital due to issues with scleroderma, a rare disease that causes skin to become thick and hard, scar tissue to build up, and damage to internal organs. She had multiple expensive surgeries, and most recently, she had a three-week hospital stay with three more surgeries to save her leg. It was during that hospital stay that the doctors discovered stage 4 cancer in her small intestine and liver.

Just days after the diagnosis, Carol experienced a devastating stroke. Carol fought for her life in the hospital, where she waited until all three of her children were by her side before she succumbed to the damage caused by her multiple medical conditions.

Carol beamed with pride as she’d talk about her children. Her beautiful legacy lives on through Joanna, Nora, and Tony, who each carry Carol’s loving spirit with them. Carol’s kind heart lives on through Joanna, who has spent her career teaching and mentoring underserved kids in Boston and New York public schools. Carol’s technical skills and warm presence lives on through Nora, who is a skilled writer and HR professional. Carol’s deep passion for the arts and her cello is unmistakable in Tony, who is a singer, dancer, and fitness professional. Carol’s children were her entire world.

For all her life, Carol put others before herself and stepped up in times of need. Now it’s time that we show up for Carol and her family. We humbly ask you to honor Carol’s legacy with a donation today to support her children through this difficult time.

Please share this GoFundMe page with your networks. You never know who Carol’s story may touch.
