BOOKER HALL (Early Years)

Booker Hall was a unique individual that left a lasting impression on anyone with which he came in contact. He had an excellent sense of humor and could make a complete stranger feel special. Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, he became interested in music, fashion and in culinary excellence from a very young age. In the late  1970's, he left Youngstown seeking to secure a better future for himself and his family.

WORKING HARD
During the 1980's and 1990's, while he and his wife, Paulette,  raised a family he established a catering business "Food by Booker".  Here, he further developed his culinary craft, pushing the boundaries of contemporary gourmet  fusion cuisine. Food prepared by his hands was fresh, cooked and plated to perfection, and always full of flavor.

While he was busy with his family, small business, and full-time job in the grocery industry, he also managed to remain on the cutting edge of fashion. Booker Hall was many things and one of them was in fashion... always. He had an impeccable eye for men's fashion and was never shy about letting everyone know. Among his contemporaries, he was second to none in knowing how to craft an outfit and (more importantly) how to  wear said outfit.

Booker was a man of many talents. One talent of which many were unaware was his singing. He was an accomplished singer trained in the classical style, but also sang in church choirs and in a contemporary jazz group (Appollonicon) established by him and his friend, Jon Rothe. For years they played various clubs in the LA area and even though they never had a mainstream breakthrough, they produced some very memorable music with songs such as "Summer Areas," "Dog-Dog City," and "The Plain Truth."

PALM SPRINGS
In 2006, a retired Booker Hall moved to Palm Springs where he quickly established himself as "The Fashionisto Chef." While frequenting several of Palm Spring' most elite restaurants and interacting with the head chefs, he began catering many private functions and served the people of Palm Springs through his well-developed culinary expertise. Simultaneously, he garnered a reputation for his unique sense of style and eventually worked as a model for several local galleries, fashion shows and lifestyle publications.

GOING HOME
Unfortunately, every story has to come to an end and Booker's story ended on October 9, 2018. After 67 years of life on this earth, his body was simply unable to continue and succumbed to complications caused by lung cancer. Surrounded and loved by Paulette and his three children (Justin, Garrette, and Taleah) he went home to be with The LORD.

This GoFundMe is to help cover the expenses of Booker's Memorial and per his request, "a fabulous cocktail reception" to follow.  Donations of any size are welcomed and greatly appreciated. ALL money donated will be utilized for his celebration of life.
