<div>As the floodwaters rose rapidly, my brother-in-law acted without hesitation. Authorities had already evacuated nearby areas but failed to notify the residents still inside their homes. Trapped with no warning and no help, he broke a window to get his wife and kids out, injuring himself in the process. Despite bleeding heavily, he refused to give up — not until he was certain that his baby, his wife, and their other child were safe.

<div>Only after they were rescued did he let go. He died a hero, wrapped in love and courage — a man who protected his family with everything he had.
