Help Us Honor Mark Burleigh's Memory with a Plaque

Dear friends and family,

I am reaching out with a heartfelt request for support. My mission is to raise funds for a dear woman I hold very close to my heart and fondly consider one of my "bonus" moms. As many of you know, Jennifer has been living through an unimaginable tragedy since 2017—her son, Mark Burleigh, has been missing since October of that year. Recently, Jennifer received even more devastating news: Mark’s bone was discovered on the riverbed.

Adding to the pain, Jennifer’s beloved father, Mark’s grandfather, has also recently passed away. Now, she is trying to bring together the finances to honor both Mark and his grandfather with plaques in Chico, and she hopes to have them in place before March 3rd.

I am asking for your help to raise the $700 needed for Mark’s plaque. This will be a meaningful way to honor his memory and ensure he is never forgotten. Mark was a kind and loving soul with a larger-than-life personality. Anyone who knew him could attest to his infectious energy and warmth.

I’ve known Mark's sister, Rose, for years—she and I have been best friends since we were 13. I remember the first time I stayed at their house and met Mark. He was a whirlwind of energy, always bouncing off the walls and driving his sister crazy with his silly antics, like bursting into her room just to annoy her! Mark truly felt like a brother to me, as he did to so many others.

While we all hope that someday Jennifer will find answers about his disappearance, in the meantime, we can come together as a community to help honor Mark’s memory in a meaningful way.
