<div>Actualizacion 17 Julio:
</div>
</div>
<ul>
</li>
<li>Luis murio de 49 años de edad.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
Ayudame a no dejar a Luis atras.

<div>Update July 17:
</div>
<div>Some of you have asked, and here's the answers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>There are no crematoriums in Antigua, so it's not possible to cremate Luis's remains and then repatriate the ashes. That would have been the easiest route, but unfortunately, that option isn't available.
</li>
<li>Luis died at the age of 49.
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Gian Carlo Leocata, and I'm raising funds to help cover the costs of repatriating the body of our brother and comrade, Luis Vegas.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Luis José Vegas Ramos is an integral part of the USB university community as an employee and active firefighter. Since 2019, Luis lived and worked in Antigua and Barbuda, where he sadly died in a traffic accident in the early morning of June 22, 2025.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Luis has no relatives on the island. His entire family is in Venezuela. Originally from Carora, Lara State, his family currently lacks the means to repatriate Luis's body and lay him to rest in the cemetery where his mother and father rest.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Lyndhurst Funeral Home in Barbados is the only agency in the region that can handle the transportation of the body, and the quote we have so far is approximately US$13,000.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Luis was like my brother, someone with whom I shared experiences that most of us never get to experience. He was a person I could trust with my life, and rest assured that nothing would happen to me. Today, I ask for your help so I can take Luis to his hometown of Carora so his brothers and sisters can lay him to rest in peace. In the fire department, we take care of our brothers and leave no one behind. Help me so I don't have to leave Luis behind.
