<div>Lauren Alexis Whinery, 20, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2024.

<div>Lauren Whinery was currently a student at The University of Alabama, excelling in her major of Marketing and dual minors in Sales and Global &amp; Cultural Perspectives. Her academic dedication earned her a place on the President’s List for the Spring Semester of 2024, an honor reserved for students with a perfect GPA of 4.0. This remarkable achievement placed Lauren among the top-performing students at the university, a testament to her hard work and intelligence.

<div>However, Lauren was much more than an excellent student. Her sorority sisters in Alpha Gamma Delta remember her as the friend who always made room at the table, extending a kind invitation to everyone. Her presence in the chapter was a testament to her genuine care for others and her dedication to fostering a sense of belonging.

<div>Lauren was also an active member of the Delta Sigma Pi (Business Fraternity), Professional Woman in Communication and Business, Globe UA and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
</div>

<div>Lauren is survived by her mother Janelle, father Tom, brother Hunter, dog Rizzo  and the numerous friends that she impacted in so many ways.
</div>

<div>To honor her cherished memory, The Lauren Whinery Scholarship Fund will be established to benefit a deserving student at the University of Alabama on an annual basis for both the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority as well as Prairie High School (IA). Your contribution will keep Lauren’s memory and spirit alive while continuing her mission of empowering people and providing opportunity to others.
