On February 14, 2025, the world unexpectedly lost a wonderful man, James B. Saunders. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to so many. Jim was the kind of person who never hesitated to help someone in need—whether it was a family member, a neighbor, or even a friend’s stranded car on the side of the road.

I know this firsthand. Years ago, when I first started visiting Pittsburgh, I got a flat tire. I was hours away from home and completely stuck. James didn’t just offer advice—he showed up. He got me back on the road, and that’s just who he was: someone you could always count on.

Now, I want to do the same for his family. Steph, my best friend for 15 years, and her loved ones are facing not just the emotional weight of losing Jim but also the financial burden that comes with it. There are unexpected expenses, financial matters to settle, and day-to-day costs that add up quickly during a time like this.

If you knew Jim, you knew his kindness and his love for his family—especially his little pug, Dobby, who was always by his side. I’m hoping we can come together to support the people he loved most and give them some relief during this difficult time.
