Dan is also remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Dan was a man who lit up every room he entered, sharing his warmth, humor, and love with all who knew him. He adored his family and friends, and his boundless energy and kind spirit touched countless lives.

Dan’s passion for football was a defining part of his life, rooted in a legacy of excellence that began at Blackstone Valley Tech Regional High School and continued at Salve Regina University. His career was marked by extraordinary achievements, leadership, and a deep love for the game.

A Legacy of Excellence: Dan Allard’s Football Career at BVT (2006-2007)

Dan Allard’s remarkable football career at Blackstone Valley Tech exemplified dedication, leadership, and athletic excellence. As a standout player for the Beavers during the 2006 and 2007 seasons, Allard’s impact on the field was transformative, helping to establish new standards of excellence for the program.

His junior year in 2006 was marked by several breakout performances. Notable among these was a 135-yard, two-touchdown game against Nashoba Tech that showcased his explosive running ability. Throughout the season, he consistently demonstrated his versatility, averaging over 8 yards per carry and proving equally dangerous as a receiver, with multiple touchdown receptions including a memorable 21-yard score against Tri-County.

The 2007 season saw Allard elevate his game even further. He accumulated over 1,000 rushing yards, joining an elite group as one of BVT’s first thousand-yard rushers. His senior campaign included several standout performances: 141 yards against Tri-County, 167 yards and three touchdowns (including a 72-yard touchdown reception) in early October, and consistently strong showings that helped lead the Beavers to a school-record 10 wins.

His athletic achievements earned him numerous accolades, including:
• Central Mass Football All-Star Team (2006, 2007)
• Colonial Athletic League All-Star Team (2006, 2007)
• Varsity Athletic Award recipient (2006, 2007)
• Part of BVT’s first-ever Super Bowl appearance team

The pinnacle of Allard’s career came in the 2007 Division 3A playoff game against Assabet Valley. In this crucial matchup, he delivered a clutch performance with 89 yards on 10 carries and two decisive touchdowns, leading to a 14-12 victory that secured BVT’s historic first Super Bowl appearance. His ability to perform under pressure was evident as he scored both the go-ahead touchdown in the second quarter and the game-winning touchdown on a spectacular breakaway run in the second half.

One of the most memorable games for the Allard family was the Thanksgiving game against Hudson Catholic, where the Beavers dominated in a 34-0 victory. The game brought the family together as Danny’s brother TJ Allard played running back while Dan provided crucial blocks, enabling TJ’s successful runs. “Seeing both brothers on the field together was a heartwarming moment,” their father said.

Beyond his statistical achievements, Allard was known for his leadership and team-first mentality. His memorable quote, “This is not just a team, we are a family,” perfectly encapsulated his approach to the game. As a three-sport athlete who also participated in track and lacrosse, he demonstrated exceptional athletic versatility and commitment to his school’s athletic program.

The foundation of Allard’s success was built on strong family support, particularly from his father, who had been a constant presence since his Pop Warner days. This support system helped shape him into not just an exceptional athlete, but also a leader who understood the importance of teamwork and dedication.

Dan Allard’s legacy at Blackstone Valley Tech extends far beyond his impressive statistics and achievements. His combination of speed, skill, and leadership helped transform BVT into a respected football program in Central Massachusetts. His performances in crucial games, consistent excellence over two seasons, and ability to elevate his teammates’ play set a standard for future generations of Beavers players. The records he set and the precedents he established continue to inspire BVT athletes, making him one of the most influential players in the school’s football history.

Dan continued his football career at Salve Regina University, where he played for four years.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be directed to Blackstone Valley Tech’s football program to honor Dan’s enduring impact and passion for the sport. Your contributions will ensure that Dan’s legacy continues to inspire young athletes to dream big, work hard, and approach life with the same joy and enthusiasm that he shared with the world.

Thank you for helping us honor the life and legacy of Dan Allard. His light, love, and leadership will never be forgotten.
