I’m organizing a fundraiser for a dear friend of mine, Desirae Coonfield, who is at risk of losing her family home. I met Desirae when she was 11 or 12 and started coming to YFC where I was volunteering in Pratt, Ks. She quickly became a favorite of mine and I enjoyed getting to know her family also. Her parents were extremely welcoming and loving to any one who came into their home,especially all of kids in the neighborhood. Desirae has experienced a tremendous amount of loss in recent years with the loss of her Brother , Mother and now her Dad. It would mean so much to her if you would be willing to help her keep her family home.

In an attempt to honor her father’s last wishes, Desirae is trying to raise money to save her family home from tax sale. Bill Coonfield moved his family to Pratt in the early 2000s and was proud to have found a place to call home for his kids. A Vietnam vet, Bill passed away recently and his last wishes were for his daughter to raise the money to save their house from tax sale as he had gotten behind over the last few years as his health declined. Bill always welcomed everyone into his life and home no matter their circumstances. All of the funds will go directly to the trustee to pay off the taxes owed. Anything above the $5,200 will go toward future taxes or home repairs.
