Funds are needed to cover costs including the website, marketing, editing assistance, and the host site which distributes each episode to the apps where you hear it. Whit was a powerhouse singer and musician who loved nothing better than making music with others. This video with his wife Barbara Panter-Connah and musical godson Michael Daves is a perfect illustration of his impact on the lives of musicians from Atlanta to Appalachia, New Orleans to New York, and beyond.
After Whit passed away in 2016, his daughter Amy Connah Hudson went on a mission to sit down and talk with people whose lives he touched.
At the time, Amy had no idea this passion project would evolve into a podcast. Here's what she had to say about those initial interviews and her vision for the podcast moving forward:
"Many people said they might not have pursued their music or picked up an instrument if he hadn't encouraged them. Others, like myself, don't play an instrument. But we have our own Whit tales to tell - just as moving, only in different ways. The conversations were so meaningful I knew I needed to find a way to get them out into the world. And that's how I came up with the idea to do a podcast. It does my heart good to bring this project to life - because it keeps my father's legacy alive. Will there be new interviews? Absolutely. While several interviews have already been recorded, there will be plenty of new conversations. Will it be all about Whit? No... While there will be lots of stories about his life, family, friends and community, the stories you'll hear extend far beyond him. That's what a strong legacy does. I'll be diving deep into stories about the lives of my guests and the legacies they're living right now because of the people who inspired them."

Whit was diagnosed with cancer on April 22, 2016. He faced his terminal illness with courage, grace, humor, and love.
His daughter Jenny Connah Chancey described it so well:
"He brought light and laughter and pure joy into his circumstance. His answer was to live! And live he did. Even from his paralytic bed, he lived life to the fullest."
We're so grateful for the support this amazing community has shown - during Whit's illness in 2016, again in 2018 for his Legacy of a Legend tribute events - and now for this podcast. Thank you!!!
