Honduras Medical Mission Trip
Donation protected
My name is Gunnar White, and I am a 16 year-old high school student. This summer, I am traveling to Honduras with volunteers from my hometown of Thousand Oaks, California, to provide medical care to needy people living in rural areas of the country. Los Robles Hospital is partnering with the Friends of Barnabas Foundation to send a medical mission team of physicians and other healthcare volunteers to treat between 1,000 and 1,500 extremely impoverished children and adults that desperately need their help. I am trying to raise $3000 toward the $10,000 needed for medical supplies for the journey and I need your help.
"The Medical Mission Teams provide primary and preventative healthcare. They set up anti-parasite & Vitamin A stations as well as general medicine, eye, and dental clinics in small schools and churches. The majority of the patients have never seen a healthcare provider. Each team is comprised of 4-5 medical professionals, 2-3 Spanish speakers, and non-medical volunteers with willing hearts and hands."
-Friends of Barnabas Foundation
All funds raised on GoFundMe.com will be used to purchase the medicine and pharmaceuticals needed to treat the local population in the villages we visit. Any extra money raised will be used to support the cardiac extended care program, which treats cardiac patients who need prolonged care after live-saving heart surgery facilitated by the Friends of Barnabas.
It is hard to describe in words the profound effect that these generous team members have on villagers living in the remote mountain areas of Honduras. The team members pay their own way, travel thousands of miles and work countless volunteer hours providing essential medical services that many of us take for granted. Here's a link to some reflections of last year's Los Robles Medical Mission team members:

Any contribution will be greatly appreciated and go directly to helping the people and children of Honduras.
Thank you for your support!
