Send These Storytellers to Honduras

We are a group of storytellers and media-makers journeying to Honduras through a Witness for Peace solidarity delegation.  Meet us in our video above!

Since the right-wing coup in 2009, the Honduran people have been resisting the violence and state suppression. Honduran activist leaders request delegations like ours to come from the US and document the role the US plays in supporting these human rights violations. We'll be meeting with indigenous leaders, journalists, and organizers using local radio to keep the movement informed - and we'll be carrying their stories back to the US with us.

The 10-day trip costs $1000 for each person, in addition to airfare. That $1000 supports our basic needs during the trip, as well as provides financial support to the on-the-ground Witness for Peace staff and the Honduran organizations. Together with supporters like you, we've raised over $4000 so far, but we need to push for our last $1800 to make sure that everyone can fully experience this trip - with our minds at ease and ready to take in our days, instead of the anxiety that can come with waiting expenses.

Think about it this way: a 10-day trip with an expense of $1000 per person means that every $100 you help us raise is another day that you just helped us pay for a delegate - a day that Jacqueli or Becky or any one of the rest of our crew can experience more freely, because of your support. Any fraction of $100 helps get us there - whether $10, $50, $150, or anything in between (or more, if you can stretch that).

Helping us reach $1800 will make sure that each one of our scholarship recipients receives the funds they urgently need. If we reach that, our stretch goal is $3600! This would allow the folks who currently have partial scholarships to receive full scholarships, and go a long way in providing Witness for Peace the trip support that staff need for this and future delegations.

Thank you so much for your support!
