Homiefest 2018!
Homies! Once again this year, Papi Fimbres and Shana Lindbeck invite you to join Homiefest V, a FREE, all-ages showcase of local music, an extended camping trip with your homies and their homies, and a FUCKING RAGING PARTY!! We are taking next year off from Homiefest, so let's make this year a special one!
August 10th weekend!
Homiefest V will be held amongst a gorgeous, privately-owned, 80-acre location in the Mt. Hood Forest area (about half an hour from Portland), with FREE CAMPING! There will be at least 25 bands, most of them local and all of them killer!
Delicious, well-priced food (v, vg, gf) and Oregon craft beer will be available for purchase, but also feel free to BYOB (and tents and food and blankets and chairs and friends and whatever else makes you feel good, yo). There will be no fires allowed due it being the height of summer. Bring a propane stove if you will be cooking.
This year, as last year, to cover the cost of this celebration of local talent and homie togetherness, we are launching this gofundme campaign. This will help us to pay for the sound system and sound engineers, lighting and electricity generation, porta-potties, gear rental, garbage disposal, parking, etc.)
We are asking you to chip in whatever you can to help cover the costs so that we can keep this homie party free to all who come (all are welcome). With 25 bands ( all of whom are brand spanking new to this fifth year of Homiefest), if you can chip in even 20 bucks, that’s less than a dollar a band! And everything else (hiking on the property, hanging out and meeting new homies) is free! Compared to other music festivals, well… shit, what can we say?
LIST OF BANDS: Wimps, Y La Bamba, Karma Rivera, Sávila, Tribe Mars, Nasalrod, Jo Passed, Nice Nice, Orquestra Pacifico Tropical, Blossom, plus many, many more.
This is a word-of-mouth festival so we will have no tickets or event pages (besides a private Facebook event) to promote it . Once we are closer to Homiefest, we will send out an email with all of the necessary information to our donors. Tell your friends and loved ones about this and know we are creating a space of love, inclusiveness and awareness.
The event is family-friendly, and all ages are welcomed! Unfortunately, no animals are allowed. We want to make as minimal an impact as possible, so please pack out what you pack in, be respectful of the location, the bands, and each other, and just come and have a good time.
Get away from the grid for the weekend and come celebrate homies, amazing local talent, great food and beer, and late-night raging with us! Anything that you can contribute is tremendously appreciated, and helps us to keep this party free of admission!
Our campaign goal is $3,000. There is also a Homiefest Benefest July 7th at Doug Fir, with Homiefest Alumni bands, Máscaras, Minden, Bitch'n & Brown Calculus, where you can show your support and your love for local music! There are no reoccurring bands so if you missed any from the passed years here's your chance to catch up!
