The North Texas Homeschool Marching Band is a program for homeschoolers in the North Texas area. Our goal is to provide musically drawn students the full band experience with opportunities for leadership and team building, while entertaining and motivating others in the homeschool community at our football games.
We are the Warrior Band! April of 2017 began our journey with two day-camps for those interested in seeing what marching band is all about. We then hit the road, I mean, field, running!
NTXHS Band welcomes all homeschool students from 6th through 12th grade of all levels of talent from beginners to advanced. We march at HSAA's football games, community parades and local concerts.
With this being our first year, we are small in numbers, though not in sound! While most schools have resources, such as instruments and a budget for music and uniforms, we do not.
NTXHS Band does not receive any outside funding.
Our main goal is to provide lessons that our single-income families can afford. Currently, participants pay a nominal fee and are responsible for their instrument. Unfortunately, it is not enough to cover the expense of our band director, nor it is enough for us to grow. The only paid position in the band is for the band director. All other positions are 100% volunteer.
The funds raised here will be used toward our band director's salary, purchasing large instruments that are not rentable or too expensive for one family to purchase, purchasing uniforms, and purchasing some dynamic music! Our goals for next year also include adding color guard.
Join us in our journey to see these amazing homeschool students grow in their musical talent and leadership abilities as well as raise awareness of the joys, freedom and adventures of homeschooling!
