ARCH Homeschool Robotics Class

In September 2017, I will be starting a robotics class at a St. Louis homeschool co-op. This is a growing area of study among middle and high schools, but is unfortunately cost prohibitive to most homeschool students. Students can be exposed to a myriad of topics during a single robotics project including design, coding, engineering, mathematics, computer logic, and critical thinking, while also incorporating creative thinking and entertainment into an educational experience. Using the ArcBotics Sparki robot, students in grades 4-8 will learn robotics, programming, and electronics. With exposed circuitry to help conceptualize the workings of the robot, and infinite programming possibilities, Sparki is an engaging and rewarding introduction to computer programming and robotics. Sparki is already being used by 2000+ top middle schools, high schools, universities, and STEM programs!

There is such a growing demand for teaching science, engineering, and math, and robotics is a fun and all-encompassing way of addressing that. Not only are programming and robotics becoming crucial skills for the job market, they also foster teamwork, communication, and creativity. I am so excited to see these skills develop, so help me inspire these brilliant students!

Robots are powerful tools for learning and should be accessible to everyone, so please consider donating to this important cause! My goal is to purchase 7 robots and 7 laptop computer, enough for 14 students in a class to work in pairs. Classes start this September, so the items will need to be purchased by the end of July.
