Homes for the Vinh Chau Village

Donation protected
Vinh Chau is a village in southwest Vietnam. The villagers live day-by-day by farming onions and radishes. After a long day of farming, they return to their homes to rest. Eight families, however, return to their homes that, unlike others, are built of mostly straw and leaves. Bare, dirt ground comprises the floor, there's no clean, running water, and some plastic tarps cover the straw walls and ceilings to possibly offer some protection from rain. When rain isn't leaking through the roof however, there's still the high risk of the homes catching on fire, given the flammable materials they're made of. Meanwhile, to build a home in this village that not only has cement floors and sturdy, cinderblock walls and ceilings, but also indoor plumbing and clean water and a real, locking door, would only cost $1,500. Eight families face the daily risks of water leaking through the roof, their home catching on fire, or an intruder entering the home. Our goal is to raise enough money to build safe homes for these families. Again, one home only costs $1,500 to build. Whether you'd like to sponsor a family's home, or donate whatever amount you can, any amount that can be donated is not only greatly appreciated, but also still greatly beneficial. We hope to raise enough money by May 2018, when I will be going back to Vietnam and returning to this village. Thank you for your support!
