Homeless woman, her son & dog need help
Donation protected
Hello friends!
I know these are trying times for all right now... We are reaching out to raise some money for one of our Pet Resource Center at Skid Row clients who has been hit especially hard. I am a volunteer for Downtown Dog Rescue Pet Resource Center.
-She lost her housing last week due to a deceptive landlord (who also poisoned her dog... the dog is ok)
-Her car, which she previously lived in for 7 months, has an axle & radiator problem & needs to be fixed.
-Her son is in his final semester of High School & graduates this coming June
- Starting Tuesday 3/17, she, her son & the dog are going to have to be sheltering in her car.
She has been pursuing all the services available to homeless individuals, of which the bureaucracy is insurmountable! And now, with the COVID 19 restrictions, NONE of the outreach agencies are open. She has a Section 8 voucher for housing, but it won't be available for about 15 days. All this while she is trying to find a job too.
We would like to raise enough funds for her to stay in a motel (we found one for 68.00 total a night) & to fix her car, (520.00)
She has asked to remain anonymous, as she is a victim of domestic violence, & fears her attacker would be able to find her if her name was out there. We at the Downtown Dog Rescues Pet Resource Center & Watt's Project have know her for the past 2 years. This money will go to an account at One West Bank, & then be given to our client to meet her needs. (She currently does not have a bank account)
Thank you for taking the time to read this, any bit of support will help!
