<p>Campaign Title: Help Kevin, and Marty Secure Their Home for WinterMy StoryMy name is Kevin Moss, and I am reaching out to my community in Cambridge and across Canada for urgent help to save my home—a 1986 Ford Econoline 27-foot motorhome. This vehicle is more than just a motorhome; it is the primary residence for myself, my partner , and our loyal dog Marty. After surviving a harsh 2025/2026 winter away from our vehicle, we have spent months fighting an exhausting cycle of predatory "towing blitzes" and mounting impound fees. In August 2026, our home was targeted by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Abrams Towing at a local carpool lot. This displacement resulted in thousands of dollars in compounding fees and, most tragically, .The Financial CrisisRecovering our property has become an impossible burden while surviving on a fixed Ontario Works budget. We have already spent $2,30 on previous recovery efforts, only to be hit with a new impound bill that is climbing toward $1,000 as daily storage fees accumulate. In Ontario, outdoor storage for large vehicles can reach up to $240 per day.Without immediate funds, we cannot pay these recovery fees, and we risk losing everything to corporate salvage operations that profit from clearing mobile shelters like ours. How Your Donations HelpWe are raising money to "legalize" our home and prepare it for the upcoming winter to prevent us from being forced onto the streets. Your donations will go directly toward:Property Recovery: Paying off thousands in accumulated towing and impound fees to get our motorhome and personal belongings back.Mandatory Insurance &amp; Registration: For older Class C motorhomes, insurance in Ontario typically ranges from $800 to $2,000 annually. We need to secure this and a $120 registration to move our home legally.Winterization Materials: We must protect our shelter from freezing. This includes RV skirting to block wind and snow, a 12V diesel air heater for consistent warmth (approx. $120–$230), and winterization pump kits (approx. $40–$50) to prevent burst pipes.Safe Parking: Securing a deposit for a private lot where we can stay legally and safely through the winter. Seasonal standard sites in the region can cost upwards of $4,500, with winter storage fees around $330.Why This MattersWe are proud Canadians trying to get a break and return to a normal living arrangement. Every dollar raised brings us closer to also helping other people&amp;families in similar sircumstanses.
