Homeless in Los Angeles Conference

Tax deductible
In  June 2021, as the City of Los Angeles is poised to reopen, the crisis of homelessness has reached the level of an epidemic.

Under the aegis of The Artists' Collective, Citizens’ Think Tank is being formed as a collective citizens brain trust to address the ever growing crisis of the unhoused in Los Angeles and our elected leaders minimal response to it.

The short term objective is to launch a realistic discussion amongst residents about ideas and problem solving solutions to the ever persistent dilemma of the unhoused and the exponential growth of poorly maintained and unsupervised encampments across the city resulting in increased criminality, drug use, home invasions, and violent threats towards home owners and residents.

The long term goal is to establish a much more effective, simple and unifying system for communications within the existing network of government (city, county, state) offices. working non profits, social service agencies, and individual activists.

Possibly an expanded 211 (or a new dedicated line) and a simple to use website coordinating all organizations dedicated to the homeless.

This website is already launched and will continue to be developed.

A two day conference is planned to delve into a much deeper and more purposeful dialogue conducted by concerned citizens with the network of support organizations and government officials with the specific intent to develop a structured action plan unifying all stakeholders and a coalition of experienced citizens capable of advising government leaders on a more transparent and efficient utilization of dedicated funds to house the homeless.

The Artists' Collective is seeking start up funds for a 2 day conference titled "Homeless in Los Angeles" to be conducted in 2021.
