My name is Chapri Kelly and I am a 36 year old mother of 3. As of September, we have been homeless. For the last 4 years, I rented from a well-known slumlord.
Our apartment had leaks, broken appliances, roaches, and mice. None of my repair requests were ever answered. Instead, they sold the house and issued me a notice to vacate by the end of August.
As a single mom facing this health and economic crisis, I need help securing safe housing for my children. Your donation would help me pay for rental application fees, first & last month’s rent, a security deposit, and our basic needs for a few months as we get ourselves back on our feet.
If 100 people donated $100, my family could finally find stability. It would mean the world to me if we could provide a healthy and supportive environment for my kids to grow at this crucial time in their lives.
With a stable home, my children can get a piece of their lives back. Going through this crisis has made us all appreciate the little things that so many take for granted -- like having your own room, a bed to sleep in, a table to eat meals, and walls to hold our memories, happiness and love.
