Welcome to the Little Station That Could. HomeGrownRadioNJ was founded in 2004 as an answer to bad commercial radio and the changes at a beloved local station that resulted in a lot of "homeless" DJs being left out in the cold. We got together,....had a little discussion....and launched HomeGrownRadioNJ on Mischief Night (Oct 30th) of 2004. Our all volunteer staff has been on a long strange trip to get to 2020. So many shows....so many in studio guests....some many great interviews.....but we're not through yet.
HGRNJ would like to Thank YOU.... OUR LISTENERS. Over the past 16 years we have always tried to maintain a presence in the Northern New Jersey music scene...hosting locals, broadcasting from area venues, and spreading the word. We've had some amazing talent come through our doors. Showcasing talent has always been a top priority at HomeGrown. We've been able to raise much-needed Operating Expenses with Online Fundraisers and Annual Benefit Concerts along the way. These successful fundraising efforts have helped us pay some of our equipment and streaming expenses. As we approach the end of our 16th year of operation, we are facing years of wear & tear on our Sound Equipment. CD Players, Turntable Cartridges, Headphones, Cables, and Microphones are all near the end of their usefulness and in need of replacing.
Due to COVID-19, we cannot organize a Benefit Concert this year and we have not done an on air fundraiser in several years. So we thought it was time to bring the fundraiser back. We are appealing to the generosity and “Team Spirit” of our HGRNJ Extended-Family Community! You Folks have always come through for us in the past, when most needed. Please consider making a Donation through our GoFundMe link to help HGRNJ meet or exceed our $3,500 goal. This will enable us to continue bringing you the best in Streaming Music & Talk that we possibly can!
Our plan is to do both an Online & On-Air Fundraising Campaign beginning on October 3rd and culminating in an Online Streaming Event with multiple musical Artists to help us celebrate our 16th Anniversary on October 30th, 2020!!!!
