Homebaked is a community-owned co-operative bakery that that employs and trains local people. We make tasty, award-winning pies, and our profits are reinvested into the community. Unfortunately, last night we were broken into – and our safe was ripped out of the wall and stolen.
Obviously, we are devastated. The money from yesterday’s match day had been placed in our safe overnight, ready for banking on Monday morning. This money had been allocated to pay our staff on the 25th October, just 10 days from now. Thankfully, we are insured, but the insurers won’t settle our claim in time to pay our staff’s wages.
We’d like to get back to baking and training as soon as possible. But we need your help. Big or small, any donation would be hugely appreciated. We would like to raise £5000- while this will not fully cover the lost takings and disruption to our business, it will go a long way to covering the payment of staff wages.
To everyone who has shown us support across the last 4 years by buying a pie, or popping into our café, we would like to say a massive thank you. It is this love and support shown by the local community that has allowed us to come so far. Please help us to get over this set-back- we want to continue to regenerate our high street in true Homebaked spirit: brick by brick, loaf by loaf, pie by pie.
