On Tuesday 8/20/2019 a fire broke out in a trailer home in Seminole County that housed 9 kids and two adults. At the time of the fire 2 high school kids were already in school but the 7 children and 2 adults were still home. Everyone was able to get out in time but the home is a total loss. The kids and adults are doing better today. One child has some burns on her face. One of the younger children has 20% 2nd degree burns on his back and he is just an infant. They are currently out of the hospital. The ages of the kids are: 15, 14, 12, 10, 5, 4, 2, 1, and 1 month old.
I'm asking help for this family because Mike Torres is a friend of mine. He is the father of just 3 of the kids. The state was going to put the 6 kids that are not biologically his into foster care. Mike is an outstanding man and agreed to take all 9 kids so the siblings can all be together and not be taken by the state. He currently lives in a small 3 bedroom apartment that can't possibly house all of the kids and he only has a small vehicle for transportation. They are in need of major help. He needs to find a house to rent, Larger vehicle, food, clothes, blankets, pillows and toys.
Any small amount will help. I believe if we come together and help this great man and precious children they will be able to live comfortably. I can't imagine how sad and scared these kids are after what they went through.
