Association Home is on a mission to develop project-based activities to challenge the sustainable development goals (SDGs) proposed by the United Nations (UN). More specifically, we are challenging the 4th SDG: quality education.
Our goal is to share, learn and exchange knowledge with communities of scholars from around the world.
Our association comprises a group of international volunteers from many different cultural and educational backgrounds who share one motivation: to revolutionize the way education is practiced. As such, we are developing pedagogical strategies to incorporate digital multimedia and frugal technologies as a tool for teaching. We are a team of mathematicians, educators and digital analysts who use interdisciplinary techniques to develop collaborative, educational activities for young scholars.
Last year, we had the opportunity to initiate our project in Accra, Ghana in collaboration with Innovate Ghana and Charis Kiddie Care Foundation . This year, we hope to continue our endeavors in Kigali, Rwanda to establish learning relationships with local institutes who share similar motivations to tackle the SDGs.
Our strategy seeks to enhance skills in science and technology in education through project-based and learning by doing activities. During 3 intensive weeks, participants will be exposed to global scenarios, new methodologies and will be trained to think like a social entrepreneur to prototype a meaningful project by developing skills in:
Programming Arduino-board technology Multimedia/digital production Writing and communication Team-building
Additionally, students will learn to identify local issues and work together to develop personalized and adaptive solutions that will prepare them to tackle global challenges of the future. Selected participants will also have access to a variety of equipment and lab space to design and carry-out proposed projects.
As such, we are seeking for funding opportunities and your support to assist the volunteers from Association Home to effectively implement and transform the way of learning.
We look forward to your involvement in the Home SDG Summer School and to your dedication to helping us reach and supporting the UN 2030 Challenge!
The Home team are grateful for your attention and we look forward to you joining us on the adventure to transform education!
