Home Help for Jane

My sister,  Jane Snyder, has had several surgeries and many hospital stays during the past few years. She has had Pancreatic cancer surgery twice to remove tumors. She had a leg amputation last year and just a few weeks ago she had a tumor removed from her sinus area that was invading the bone in her skull. There have been numerous complications she has dealt with from her surgeries and also due to what is behind so much of her medical problems---a faulty gene she inherited that is present in our family's DNA, called MEN1 ( Multiple Endocrine Neoplasms). She gets an injection monthly at a Cancer Clinic to help reduce the debilitating side effects from her disease.
      Jane manages to keep her spirits up through all that she has been through and is always the first one to help out other people that she sees are in need, whether family, friends or strangers! She has a heart of gold and she seldom complains about her own situation.
      However, her home living conditions in South Carolina have become increasingly difficult for her to manage with her illnesses and disability. Her husband does what he can, but also works full time, has some health problems himself and needs to take her to her various frequent doctor appointments and treatments.
       Jane's most immediate needs are for house cleaning services and home repair services so the first money collected can be used to hire competent, professional people to help with that. Secondly, her house needs to be remodeled to be user friendly for someone who is disabled. Her kitchen area is too cramped for someone who often needs to use a wheelchair. Doorways need widened, grab bars and safer flooring need to be installed. Plus, I am sure there are many ways her house can be made safer and rooms made more accessible for someone who must use assistive devices to manage what is just normal daily living. Knowing my sister, Jane, she wants the independence of doing her own cooking, cleaning and clothes washing so she just needs a home set up to help her accomplish those tasks. Therefore, my longer term goal for perhaps the rest of this year is to collect enough funds for a remodel to be done of the house, inside and out as needed, plus the replacement of any non or barely working appliances and/or plumbing , heating and air conditioning units.
      My sister, Jane, really deserves this help. I am confidant that anyone who knows her will want to contribute, even if just a little. Hopefully, even those who don't know her will be inspired by her story, and will somehow find it in their hearts to want to be a part of giving Jane this gift.
