Funeral/medical expenses for the Schweitzer family

Joey Schweitzer went to his heavenly home on Sunday, September 27, 2020. He leaves behind his devoted wife Adele, and their 11 beautiful children. Funds collected from this Go Fund Me page will now help his family with funeral and medical expenses, including hospice, and anything else they may need at this time.

Initially with this Go Fund Me campaign, we raised money with the intention/hope that Adele would be able to use the funds to hire someone to help her care for Joey at home. They now have additional expenses with the upcoming funeral and travel/medical expenses incurred from their hurricane evacuation to Atlanta, so we have raised the goal amount.

While we’ve all spent the weekend preparing for these back-to-back hurricanes to hit, our dear friends the Schweitzers have been weathering a different kind of storm for quite some time.

Joey Schweitzer has been suffering from a seizure disorder and his health has now deteriorated to the point where he is often disoriented and unable to walk without falling down.

His humble, devoted (hero) wife, Adele, a nurse, has been working tirelessly, day and night to care for him and their children, often on her own.

They do qualify for help from Medicare, but the waiting list is extremely long, and their need is urgent.

We are raising money so that Adele can hire a home health aid or a sitter for at least one day a week so that she can get a break from caring for him to tend to their children. Every prayer, thought, or donation is appreciated.
