Home For Families

Hi!
My name is Kathleen and my husband Allen and I have a total of 4 young daughters and a bun in the oven which is due in 2021! My family and I have experienced hardship in the past few year's making it a challenge to provide a home for our children. In 2018 my husband lost his job and we were forced to separate the family until we found a space for us all. My husband was living in a different town than the children and me making it really challenging for both the children and our family.  In December 2019 it was hard to find a home to afford and to be together we renting a month-to-month hotel room at the Mancelona Hotel, which was very small, but it allowed us to stay together as a family! This past summer my husband and I got married and we received news that we will be expecting another addition to the Tipton family. With this news, we knew we needed to find a home for our four girls and one, or boy, on the way, that we need to find a new space to raise our children. Allen mentioned to Sam Porter at Mt Mancelona our situation and he immediately started working on ideas.  Sam on Christmas Eve came over and after seeing our small place with minimal in it so Sam went home and filled his truck with furniture, toys for girls, his children's crib, and more. We are beyond thankful.  Sam worked to get a next to a free mobile home from Sams friends at Swains Salvage Yard (14'wx64'l) that needs some big TLC, but gives us a chance to restore it for winter and have a home, baby room, and space at Mt Mancelona that is amazing. With Sams's support, I am creating this crowdfund for so we can reach out for community and friends help in this fixer-upper goal so that our children can have a real home to grow up in and they are already so excited.  Sam had a mobile home already he helped us move into and the happiness in our girl's eyes is beyond amazing. Allen has never asked anyone for help and this is hard for us but if you can offer time this weekend or any day, help with demo (we have a dumpster), cleaning, materials, and/or funds raised, we will be able to restore a 3 bedroom trailer into a home before winter coming soon. This trailer is far from perfect now- its a fixer-upper with perfect potential and place - and I personally feel that it will give our kids some much-needed pride and confidence in the world and teach them about how people help each other and helped build their home! The list of fixes is as follows but more in detail below and we are not picky and appreciate any help:
siding (exterior wood over current aluminum as well as lower and upper siding trim, flooring from carpet to vinyl, windows and storm windows ideally of exact or similar size as we can reframe, doors if possible especially a sliding double door, plumbing for needed new or used furnace, electrical touch up, and any appliances as the trailer stove without a hood vent, dishwasher and no laundry/dryer would be incredible..   I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you that have taken the time to read this and thank you for taking a glimpse into our life. We are humble people and rarely ask for help so this is a huge step for us. All donations we receive will be appreciated greatly and will be paid forward on behalf of my husband and me. All help will be appreciated whether it be supplies, time, labor, or donations. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and pray that with help we can give our almost 5 under 7 beautiful children a house to call home and grow up in.  Thanks, Sam, Mary, Swains, and all!  Kathleen & Allen Tipton, Lala, Scarlet, Autumn, Hayden.
