<div>Nick Hope, a Dachau Concentration Camp Survivor, just celebrated his 100th Birthday in September.

<div>My father, Nickoliay Xoprenko was born September 7, 1924, in Petrovka, Dunbas, in
</div>
<div>Ukraine. In 1974 he changed his name to Nick Hope. Spiritually, he always had believed
</div>
<div>in hope… and it is far easier to spell ‘Hope’ than ‘Xoprenko.’ 
</div>
<div>My family and I are requesting help and support from you.
</div>
<div>I'm asking because my father, a humble and very proud gentleman, last year could not
</div>
<div>afford to attend the Dachau 79th anniversary liberation event without firstly, cashing in
</div>
<div>his funeral and casket policy so that he and I could attend the ceremonies. 
</div>
<div>Many people don’t think about the cost of living to such a great age.
</div>
<div>My father worries about his house that requires tens of thousands of dollars in repair.
</div>
<div>My father, an amazing 100 year old, a very kind and great gentleman of his time, was
</div>
<div>tortured during his incarceration in multiple Holocaust camps.
</div>
<div>The first time, was in Ukraine, during the 1933 Holodomor famine, implemented by
</div>
<div>Stalin, which killed over 3 million people, including my father's two brothers. 
</div>
<div>The second was during WW2 under Hitler&amp;#39;s regime, also by the hand of Hitler's SS,
</div>
<div>where my father worked at an ammunition factory at Wolfratshausen, wearing only the
</div>
<div>clothes on his back for eleven months. 
</div>
<div>Then the third, where he was falsely accused of sabotage whilst working at the BMW
</div>
<div>factory and thrown into Dachau Concentration Camp for three months. 
</div>
<div>My father had been recruited to help build the aircraft engines at the BMW factory, and
</div>
<div>transported to Allach, a subcamp of Dachau. My father was there, incarcerated for a
</div>
<div>further two and a half years enduring many terrible and unspeakable atrocities,
</div>
<div>including starvation, torture and beatings by the SS.
</div>
<div>Now this is where my father really needs an extraordinary amount of help from you all
</div>
<div>please. 
</div>
<div>My father and myself have been invited to return back to the Dachau Camp on April
</div>
<div>27th, 2025, by special invitation to attend the 80th year liberation anniversary
</div>
<div>ceremonies, in and across Dachau and Munich. 
</div>
<div>On the April 29, 1945, 32,000 Dachau prisoners, became survivors. On the afternoon of this day the wonderful American soldiers arrived to liberate all of the precious human
</div>
<div>beings and souls at the camp. 
</div>
<div>Both the survivors and the liberators, these great and extraordinary men and women
</div>
<div>have now very sadly dwindled down to the very few. 
</div>
<div>The Liberation of Dachau Concentration Camp took place on April 29th, 1945, by the U.S. Army, 42nd Rainbow Division, the 45th Infantry Regiment, the 20th Armored Tank
</div>
<div>Corps, together with handful of other U.S. military units.
</div>
<div>The majority of the wonderful liberators are now 100 years of age or more.
</div>
<div>The liberators and or their families will also hopefully be attending the 80th anniversary
</div>
<div>ceremonies alongside my father, the survivors and their families.
</div>
<div>My father is a great hero in my eyes, in my heart, and to our family as well.
</div>
<div>Nick Hope, Dachau survivor, amazingly now 100 years of age, wants to return back to
</div>
<div>the Dachau camp this coming April to tell of, show, and to share his forgiveness,
</div>
<div>compassion, and hope to everyone that wishes to listen. Nick has forgiven all those who
</div>
<div>have caused him harm, pain, and immense suffering, including the SS officer, who Nick
</div>
<div>just happened to see and meet at a Krankenhausse unemployment office, fifteen years
</div>
<div>later in Germany.
</div>
