Hollywood Prop Museum

OUR STORY Hello! My name is Tim Shockey and I've been a movie prop collector since 1987  when I purchased the totally destroyed Green Goblin head from Stephen King's Maximum Overdrive. My wife and I  owned a video store here in southern Ohio called Uncle Jim's Videoland back then and we put the head on display for our customers to see.   I started restoring the Green Goblin head in 2011 and finished it in March of 2013. I spent nights and weekends restoring it. Less than a week after painting it we attended our first con with it. I have passionately been traveling the U.S. and Canada since March 16, 2013 sharing this great piece of movie history with fans. I have attended 10-15 events a year. My journeys have allowed me to meet and hang out with many celebrities and to meet many thousands of fans. It has been a fantastic journey.  I now have over 800 items in my collection. I've been  bringing a few of them with me on tour but I feel everyone should have a chance to see them all. If I don't share these items with you than what good are they doing in my possession? I feel it would almost be a sin to keep them locked away in my private collection.   All of our events have been canceled this year so far and I want to make it where people can still get a chance to get out and see my collection.   So here's what I want US to do. This isn't something I can do alone. I need your help to bring to life HOLLYWOOD PROP MUSEUM! Over the years I've had people come here to my house from all over the United States and even as far away as the United Kingdom just to see the Green Goblin head! To name a few, I have items like the 17' Alligator that Jim Carrey grabbed by the tail in Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Adam Sandler's HERO football from The Longest Yard, A Scream screen used mask signed by Wes Craven, handcuffs used on Jackie Chan in Around the World in 80 Days. I also have fellow collectors that are willing to let me display some of their cool items. One of the coolest features is that our museum will be a "HANDS ON" museum!!! What does that mean to you? Most of our items will be available for you to hold for pictures! OUR GOAL  We found a building near by that would be perfect for our HOLLYWOOD PROP MUSEUM! It is 60' x 100' with plenty of room for parking and to expand if needed. It is in need of some repairs but everything about it makes it the perfect spot. We have many plans in development that with make a trip to our museum a treasured memory for everyone!  To purchase the building and make repairs will take $40,000 and to set up the displays will take another $10,000. So we need a total of $50,000 to make this happen. Any money we receive above this amount will all be put to use making it even better. Anyone that has met me down through the years knows my passion for what I'm doing. Every penny made from all of the events I've done have always gone right back in to making the displays better. We REALLY NEED to make this happen as soon as possible before someone else buys the building. In the case that this would happen I will use the money to build on to my existing building. It would have to be a little smaller and I wouldn't have near as much parking space but could still make it work.   The museum will have a Gift Shop where were will offer many cool collectibles including authentic movie props!  Also, we have plans to bring in celebrities' from time to time for photo-ops and autographs. THE IMPACT This campaign is very important to me because I feel people need to have the chance to see all of these unique pieces of movie memorabilia. Many of these items are one of a kind and many are the HERO pieces. I have always enjoyed sharing them with fans and I like to go the extra mile to make everyone's experience unforgettable. I like to let people hold items to get their picture with and enjoy telling them a cool story about the piece.   I have a passion for restoring and sharing these items and want everyone to get that chance to take something from their bucket list they thought would never happen.
