Hello everyone, My name is Holland Coleman. I had harrington rods put into my spine (top to bottom) when I was 12 years old. The past few weeks I have been experiencing terrible pain and a lump was forming on my spine.  A few days ago, the symptoms had gotten worse. I lost feeling in my legs and could not get up. The lump was turning colors and I decided with all of the pain and symptoms I need to go to the ER. Upon arrival, I had some Xrays, an MRI and a Catscan. The hospital informed me that there is fluid exactly where the lump is. It turns out I have an infection in my spine in which now, is traveling around my back. I was sent by ambulance to another building with specialty doctors. It was here that I was admitted. The facility is called Zale Liphsy University Hospital. There is a team of doctors working on finding the source of this infection as fast as they can. I have had 2 procedures so far, including taking samples of the fluid building around my spine. The lab results are showing higher infectious counts day after day. Yesterday, I was informed that the metal rods in my spine will need to be removed because 1. They may be the source of infection and 2. They are in the way from finding the source. Removing the metal rods from my spine will be an extensive surgery with long term care that will be needed. This was all unexpected and I am asking from the bottom of my heart for donations to replace SOME of the income I would be bringing into the home for the next few months. My Husband works Full time and We also have 2 children in our home. One child in Florida as well. Me being out for a while with extensive recovery, will affect my family financially. Money would go towards bills, groceries, and neccessities outside of my husbands income. Christmas Is only a month away as well and I will be in the hospital still, or possibly home on bedrest. I dont like asking for help, But these next few months will be extremely hard for my husband and children and I would like one less thing for them to worry about. Any amount will help. Thank you!
