Treatment and Recovery Costs for Mason & Holly

Hello Everyone: I am raising money for one of my best friend's, Holly Champagne and her baby boy Mason.  Holly's due date was September 17, 2020.  Mason's ultrasound and genetic testing results indicated that he would be born with Down Syndrome and also has three separate heart conditions that will require surgery.  On July 9, 2020, Holly was admitted into Texas Women's Hospital after experiencing significant swelling in her leg and some spotting.   After several tests, Mason was diagnosed with hydrops fetalis, which is a serious fetal condition defined as abnormal accumulation of fluid in two or more fetal compartments.  Early delivery was necessary to stop the swelling.  At 30 weeks, sweet Mason was delivered by c-section on July 10, 2020.  Since then he has been fighting to overcome all the obstacles ahead of him.  The doctors are doing everything they can for the swelling and are concerned about his kidney functions.  They are happy to report that his heart and lungs are currently functioning beyond their expectations.  Holly was released from the hospital on July 14th and sweet Mason will remain in the NICU.   Holly lives in Beaumont, Texas.  The hospital, in Houston, does not provide a place for her to stay, but she will have access to him 24/7 in the NICU.  Holly would like to stay close to the hospital so that she will have easy access to Mason and stay by his side as much as possible.  This fundraiser is to raise money to help Holly with expenses for her lodging and food during her stay in Houston for Mason's recovery, surgeries and any medical expenses not covered by insurance. After Mason recovers from hydrops and any complications from his premature birth, he will also require 1-2 heart surgeries.  Again, this will require extensive hospital stays very soon after birth. Also, please add Holly and Mason to your prayers.  Please pray for healing over baby Mason and for strength and peace over Holly  and her family as well knowledge for her medical team.
