Hi.
My name is Natalie Ramos and I am the founder of Spoiled Brats Give Back (@spoiledbratsgiveback). Born and Raised in Spanish Harlem, I am no stranger to poverty and underprivileged communities.
SBGB was founded in 2011 when I threw my first Christmas Toy Drive for the children of the Bronx and El Barrio. Each year since, with the help of my amazing supporters- we have raised thousands of toys that were given to many organizations such as Project Santa, Domestic Violence Shelters, local churches, local sports organizations and individuals in need. No child should be left without a gift on Christmas is our belief.
In planning this years Toy Drive and knowing the damage of what has occurred, Puerto Rico has weighed heavy on my heart. Today, a friend- Lucy Santos contacted me as she has already made plans to go to Puerto Rico on January 2nd and asked if I had extra toys this year, if I'd be willing to give to her for her mission to give to the Children of Villa Calm, Toa Baja who were hit tremendously by Hurricane Maria. Well, yes Lucy- Not only will these toys be donated to your mission but I will also be joining in on this mission. This is exactly what I've wanted to do but didn't know how to expedite. I'm so very happy that she contacted me. Lucy has contacted Pastora Yajaira Melendez of La Casa de Refugio y Restauracion El Favor De Dios in Calle Munoz Rivera #42, 00949
WE ARE FUNDING OUR OWN FLIGHT AND STAY.
Here is what I need from you:
1) If you are in the New York area, please bring toys to the Spoiled Brats Give Back even at the Mott Haven Bar and Grill (in the BX) on December 20th from 6:30pm to 10:30pm
2) Although our mission is to bring toys to the Children of Puerto Rico, we understand that shipping costs will be very high. We will be using money that is donated to fund shipping and to purchase Walmart gift cards so that we are able to shop in Puerto Rico to make things a bit easier for us.
We understand that there are a lot of bogus groups that claim to 'give' and end up cheating the people out of their money. That is not the case here. Please visit our instagram page @spoiledbratsgiveback and see all of the good we've done in our community. We will be documenting our journey. Please find it in your hearts to donate what you can, every little bit helps.
