Holiday Food Baskets for the Less Fortunate

Lending a hand when others need it most may not take a lot from you depending on your circumstances. Yet it can mean so much to those who struggle to feed their families, despite their efforts. It is hard to believe that this inability for families to secure basic needs is such a common occurrence. How can this be, when we live in a world that goes to such great lengths to get the latest mobile phone, or the 55th pair of shoes that we really do not need but somehow "must have." Even a simple dinner date, without a whole lot of effort, comes at a cost that far exceeds what many families around the world produce in a whole month of hard labor.

Unfortunately, you and I do not have the capacity to solve this issue permanently. Nor do we have the ability to fix all of the other problems of this world, at least not at once. But what we do have is the capacity to bring a smile and sense of comfort to some of the families who need it the most. We can do this with a simple and single gesture. A gesture of love, a reminder that we are all one and that there are some people who are not solely self serving individuals in this world. We can remind people of the good that exists in this world, even when it often does not feel that way. We can give someone the comfort of feeling that they are not alone, even despite their current difficulties.

On December 22, friends and family will help us deliver a food basket with basic necessities for a Christmas Dinner to as many families in need as we can reach with your help and generosity.

Would you believe we can make this happen, we can touch a family with as little as $10 US per basket? That’s all that it would take to touch a family on such a meaningful day. Help us with any amount that you can afford to donate. A little goes a long way for those who have nothing. If you feel blessed, have the means to lend a hand, and feel it in your heart to bring the light of the Christmas celebration to a family in need within the poorest communities in the Dominican Republic, please join me in doing so today.
