Hey my name is Greg Odachowski, I'm a 7th grade social studies teacher at Cario Middle School in Mount Pleasant, SC and like most teachers, I have a side gig, and over the past 4 years, my side gig has been running my pop-up bagel company on the weekends, it's called Holey City Bagels.
I need about $10,000 to finish building my mobile bagel trailer.
The cost of everything kept creeping up and ended up being much more than initially anticipated and now I am scrambling, so I am humbly asking for assistance, no amount is too small!

My story
When I moved to Charleston from New Jersey as a teenager, there was one thing I missed more than anything... good bagels.
So eventually I started making my own bagels at home. I tried many different recipes and over time I learned what was working and what wasn't and slowly developed a recipe of my own. I also read everything I could about making bagels and watched every bagel making YouTube video in existence. My family and friends said they were amazing, and they didn't appear to be humoring me, so I decided to look into turning this little hobby of mine into a business.
So in 2017, I applied to be a vendor at the Charleston Farmers Market and was surprisingly approved. It's a huge market downtown that attracts tons of people, locals and tourists alike. They unsurprisingly stuck unproven, untested me over in the area with the crafts, far from the central food court where all of the other food vendors were located.
I honestly had no idea what to expect that first day. Asking people to give you money for something that you created from scratch can be a humbling experience, but I kept my expectations pretty low and my Dad had volunteered to help out so I figured we would just have fun with it and see what happened.
I sold out on my first day, it was crazy, people in Charleston are bagel crazy. I slowly started developing regulars and the market manager noticed that I was bringing in people that might not otherwise be there, and slowly he moved me closer and closer towards the main food court.
Finally, half-way through my second year, I was given a spot in the main food court. I remember saying to one of the vendors up there that I felt like I had made it to the show.
Eventually I started popping up at breweries, coffee shops and neighborhoods as well and then decided it was time to take the next step and build a food truck or trailer.
I had always been fascinated by Airstreams and thought that they fit my brand, so I found an old one down in Florida and gave it to a very skilled fabricator in Charleston (Steven with Black Oxide Welding) to have retrofitted into a mobile bagel shop.
With so many unexpected costs, maxed out credit cards and the inability go get a loan, I am humbly asking for your assistance, no amount is too small, help me expand my reach so that I can deliver quality, hand-rolled, water-boiled bagels throughout the low-country!
