<div>My name is Jinwoo/Joe Park, and I'm from Korea, currently attending UCSB. Last year, my mom visited the US for the first time after retiring from her job. I asked her, "How did you feel after retiring?" She responded, "Being used in society." I was shocked because her job was her dream, and I thought, "Even if it's her dream, society made her feel used." I wonder what will happen if I can't find happiness with my dream. I still don't know my dream and happiness, but making films has been my dream since I was 15. That's why I started writing about Hazel. This film helps me find my own happiness and realize what my dream means to me. It's my first time directing a film; although I've been on many film sets, I've never directed before. I've learned to trust my crew because a director can't make a film without the entire team, and they know more about their department than I do. I'll focus on actors to how to act on camera. I will take care of crews with a producer.

<div>This story asks us what happiness is and shows that people sometimes use each other for their happiness. I believe that happiness comes from within, not from other people. I want to convey that we might be happy, but often we are searching for something other than happiness.

<div>제 이름은 박진우 혹은 조 입니다. 한국에서 왔으며 현재 UCSB에 다니고 있습니다. 작년에 엄마가 직장을 퇴직하시고 처음으로 미국을 방문하셨어요. 저는 엄마에게 "은퇴 하니깐 어때? "라고 물었습니다. 엄마는 “사회에서 이용당한 느낌이야”라고 말하더라고요. 엄마의 일은 엄마의 꿈이었기 때문에 충격을 받았고, '엄마의 꿈이더라도 사회가 엄마를 이용당하는 느낌을 들게하는구나' 라고 생각했습니다. 꿈에서 행복을 찾지 못하면 어떻게 해야 됄지가 궁금했습니다. 저는 아직도 제 꿈과 행복을 알지 못하지만, 영화를 만드는 것이 15살 때부터 저의 꿈이었습니다. 그래서 헤이즐에 대해 글을 쓰기 시작했습니다. 이 영화는 저 자신의 행복을 찾고, 제 꿈이 저에게 어떤 의미인지 깨닫도록 도와줄것이라고 생각하는데요. 영화를 연출하는 것은 이번이 처음이지만  많은 영화 세트장에 많은 것을 배웟습니다. 감독은 팀 전체 없이는 영화를 만들 수 없고 팀은  감독보다 자신의 하는일을 더 잘 알기 때문에 저는 저의 제작진을 신뢰하며 영화를 만들어 갈것입니다. 저는 배우들이 카메라 앞에서 어떻게 연기하는지에 더욱 신경 쓸것이고 프로듀서와 크루들과 함께 좋은 영화를 만들겠습니다.
