Hogar Sagrado Corazon is a home in Montero, Bolivia, for over 120 girls who are either orphaned or without a stable family.
Girls age 1-19 years, along with staff, the Franciscan Sisters (the Madres), and volunteers make up the family here. The Hogar provides a safe and loving environment, basic necessities, education and activities, friendship and fun for all the girls. And we need your help!
Christmas is coming! Thao, Avra, and Chris are volunteers from the U.S. We live in the Hogar with the girls, and one of our responsibilities is to raise money for Christmas presents, and so we are reaching out to you to help make this year special for these very wonderful girls.
The girls share almost everything they own, and do not often receive gifts outside of what they need. As much as any kid, they all look forward to Christmas, and it's one of the few opportunities we have to give each girl something to help her feel special and loved. Presents here are not huge, but getting gifts for 120+ girls is an expensive endeavor and we are starting from zero.
That's where you come in! Because the mailing system in Bolivia is expensive and unreliable, we can't get presents mailed from outside of the country, so our goal is to raise as much money as possible (within the next 1-2 weeks) to support the girls on Christmas. All money raised will go towards Christmas presents, or will be saved and put towards birthday presents or other holiday celebrations. Money raised will be sent to the Madrina fund account, managed by current and former volunteers. This is a great opportunity to make a difference and brighten the lives of our girls -without these donations, we don't have a way to get presents or decorations. Any amount you can add will be a help
