Hoffman Park Ace Place Disc Golf Course

The Allegany County Disc Golf Club has joined forces with the City of Frostburg to bring you the first public disc golf course in Allegany County — and you're invited to be a part of it right here at the beginning!

The Hoffman Park Ace Place Disc Golf Course in Frostburg is expected to open in Spring 2023. City of Frostburg officials approved in December 2022 spending $8,500 for the course. That figure covers the design, layout, baskets and tee signs. But it doesn't cover associated costs, such as concrete (we need nearly 1,100 pounds for the installation of the tee sign posts and baskets), tee sign posts, hardware and more.

The club has more than 70 members, nearly 1/3 of whom are ages 17 and younger. This bodes well for the future of local disc golf and provides a spark to one of the club's top goals of fielding a competitive club team by Spring 2025.

In addition, we are looking to add a kiosk at the start of the course on which to place a course map, and to serve as a bulletin board for area disc golf activities. We also plan to install and maintain a lost-and-found box.

Any donation of $300 or larger qualifies an individual, family or civic organization or business to be a Hole Sponsor. There are nine of those available, and are taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Potential sponsors can secure their favorite/preferred basket # to sponsor once payment is received. The club will have a sign made for each sponsor, to be put on the designated tee sign post. The sponsor is responsible for providing all artwork necessary in the required format.

The club collected $631 during the 18-week doubles league season, plus another $290 from the tournament on March 4. The club believes raising funds through GoFundMe will help us reach the finish line to bring a top-notch nine-hole public disc golf course to Allegany County and the City of Frostburg.

One hundred percent of any funds at the goal amount received here will go towards the installation and maintenance of Hoffman Park Ace Place Disc Golf Course. Anything over that could go towards supporting the club's many community outreach activities.
