Hoek's Hope Fundraiser

In February 2017, John went to the emergency room with severe back pain. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, with metastasis to lungs, liver, and several lymph nodes. His cancer is too far spread for surgery or radiation.  John has had 8 cycles of first line chemotherapy, but his cancer has become resistant and continues to progress.  Most recently, it was determined that his cancer has a mutation that will cause all standard treatment to be ineffective. The cancer has now spread to his bones and skin.   

 

John has been married for 16 years to his wife, Andi. They have four young kids: Jase 3, Drew 6, Ty 10, Cami 12.  Additionally, he has spent his entire career with Conagra, which has become a second family to him.  

 

John and Andi have had an impact on all of us, whether as friends, family, or colleagues.  It is our chance to show them how much we all care.  The money that is raised will be used by the family for what they think is important.  Right now, medical bills are covered by insurance but that may get more uncertain as they explore clinical trial options.  These funds will just help relieve the burden as they continue on their journey.  Whether they use it to make memories together, save for the kids college expenses, or hiring someone to clean the house, this will support them.  Please donate today if you’ve been touched by their story.  And, most important, please keep John and their entire family in your prayers!
